LAWRENCE B. CUSTER
Lawrence B. Custer was a prominent Marietta attorney who established the practice that bears his name and continues his tradition of aggressive legal representation. Larry practiced primarily in the areas of divorce, child custody, child support and alimony. Larry was raised and attended school as a lifelong resident of Marietta, Georgia. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in 1957 and a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1960. Larry held many positions in the legal practice including law clerk to the Honorable Elbert P. Tuttle, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Assistant Solicitor General for Cobb County.
Larry was active in many organizations including the Kiwanis International (President of his club), Cobb County Bar Association (President), State Bar of Georgia, State Bar Disciplinary Board, Chairman of the State Board to Determine Fitness of Bar Applicants, Georgia Legal History Foundation (President), American Bar Association, American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the American Bar Foundation Committee on Legal History Fellowships, The Advocates Club (President), and the Inquiry Club. Larry was listed in the Best Lawyers in America from 1991 until his death.
